It is suddenly September.

The light starts to change as routines return, and everything feels slightly in transition. Here are some things I’ve been photographing, thinking about, and looking forward to over the past months.

Right now I’m especially excited about my upcoming work trip to Zambia (27 September–4 October), among other things.

I hope to see and connect with many of you in the coming months. As always, I’d love to hear your ideas for creative collaborations, or simply a little hello.

RETURN TO SENDER / exhibitions in Norway

From August 22 until September 3, two images of mine were exhibited at TERMINALEN in Hausgesund, Norway, as part of the Return to Sender exhibition curated by Virring. The installation of the photos printed in postcard format will also be seen at RÅ collective in Oslo between 8 and 25 October 2026.

This year, once again, I had the pleasure of documenting a range of projects by BürgerStiftung Hamburg, photographically exploring topics such as connecting with nature, integration, community building, or intergenerational exchange.

In the very beginning of the year in the middle of winter I traveled to Lithuania with writer Ariane Heimbach to meet female soldiers within the German army, who are part of a division with the mission to protect the Lithuanian border from a potential Russian attack.

Hansel Mieth Preis / Shortlist

Dialika Neufeld, Ana Arevalo Gosen and I were shortlisted for this year`s Hansel Mieth Preis for our joint reporting on the odyssey of the Hussein family published in DER SPIEGEL. The reportage follows the Hussein family, who were deported from Bavaria to Spain after nearly four years in Germany. Left homeless, they return a month later to start from scratch.

Robert Bosch Stiftung

For RBS I visited the United World College in Freiburg with writer Sabine Fischer to produce a story about four international students and their daily life at one of Germany`s most innovative schools.
