It’s been over a year since my last update—time to reconnect!

Why the long pause? Honestly, time has a way of slipping by, and I’ve been more focused on creating images than talking about them.

But staying connected matters. Photography, for me, isn’t just about capturing moments—it’s about sharing how I see the world with you.

So here’s to a fresh update. I’m glad you’re here.

EXHIBITIONS

Berlin

The image above from my project Flowers are not beautiful on a casket, about fighting femicides in Kenya was selected for KEEP YOUR EYES PEELED, an exhibition format during Berlin Art Week by AFF Gallery, showcasing contemporary photography.

Heidelberg

In May, my long-term project Secrets of the Desert appeared in a group show during OFF//Foto at Dezernat 16. The project follows my boat trip along the Nile in Egypt, captured in analogue. It blends personal reflection with cultural history; fact and fiction intermingle while past and present collide.

Funded by VG Bild Kunst, it’s also being edited as a photo book together with Régina Monfort.

DSW GRANT

Together with writer Veronica Frenzel I was awarded this year’s Media Prize of DSW (Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevölkerung).

This September we will be reporting from South Africa on the impact of the Trump-era cuts in development aid on at‑risk groups.

I also won this prize in the previous year and produced work with writer Tobias Asmuth on feminism and femicides in Nairobi, Kenya. You can see a selection of photos here.

Our piece was published in ZEIT Online, WOZ and FR7.

TEACHING

This semester, I had the opportunity to serve as a photography lecturer at the Faculty of Design at TH Mannheim, where I led the weekly Fotodesign class. It was an incredibly rewarding and enjoyable experience.

Starting in the winter semester I will be teaching History of Photography, and I’m very much looking forward to this new chapter.

PUBLICATIONS

Over the past year, my work has included photographing the annual report for Bürgerstiftung Hamburg, documenting impactful projects in Angola for Brot für die Welt, or meeting inspiring Polerinas for Stern Magazin.

I also had the opportunity to collaborate with GEO on a story about Yazidi women building new lives in Germany and to portray Pastor Maike Schöfer for Brigitte magazine—along with many other meaningful assignments.
