In Germany just like in many other places baking bread is an old and traditional craft that has changed over time adapting to faster and more industrialised work processes.

Die Brotpuristen aim at redicovering the purity that bread once possessed and bake their sourdough bread without added yeast.

Brotpuristen derives from the Latin word ‘purus’ which means pure and unaltered.

Their artisan bread is ready in the afternoons, so the bakers don’t have to get up at 3 AM, it can be orderd online and is advertised on social media.

Die Brotpuristen have been awarded the KFW GRÜNDER AWARD 2018 (Rheinland -Pfalz).
